The Banner Saga: Warbands Kickstarter Funded In Thirty Minutes

Indie game developer Stoic and miniatures board game creator MegaCon Games revealed further details about The Banner Saga: Warbands miniatures board game after it successfully funded its Kickstarter Campaign in under 30 minutes after it launched yesterday.

Brian Shotton Game Designer and Founder at MegaCon Games had this to say. “The combat is diceless, purely tactical and while different from the video game, carries over the spirit of hard decision making where not everyone will survive. The ultimate goal in all this is to keep your Warband together.”

The Banner Saga: Warbands is based on the critically acclaimed video game franchise and will be a cooperative, miniatures board game for 2-4 players. Decision making is key and will have direct consequences on the game as it proceeds.

You’ll get 30 plastic miniatures, a world map, player boards and several card sets.

Backers of the Kickstarter will also get an exclusive Warband miniature to add to their collection in addition to other rewards specific to each pledge level.

The miniatures look brilliant and overall production value seems to be very high but with all of these things, it will come down to how the gameplay comes together.
