Riot kill off League of Legends Character as Part of their Lore
In a move that could be described as both inspired and stupid, Riot have killed off one of the characters in LoL’s roster.
Gangplank is the character in question, and he has been bumped off by his rival Miss Fortune, all as part of the current Bilgewater event.
Not so bad you may think, but LoL’s free to play system means that people have chosen to pay to keep Gangplank, not to mention have bought new skins for him. So, obviously there are going to be a lot of people who have issues with this current scenario.
Riot have told fans to remain calm as they assess the situation on their forums. They have stated that refunds will not be given, but in time they will make things right for everyone. What form this will take is unknown, but until it’s resolved there are going to be a lot of grumpy, pirate fans.
