The International 5 Qualifiers and Invites Detailed

Invitations for The International 5 have been sent out, with 10 teams being invited and 6 more coming through the qualifiers.

The teams that have received invites are, TI4 champions NewBee, Dota Asia Championship winners Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, Cloud 9, ViCi Gaming, Invictus Gaming, LGD Gaming, Team Empire, Virtus Pro and Team Malaysia.

This means that big names, especially in Europe, such as NaVi, Alliance and NiP will all battle it out in the qualifiers. You can see the full list of teams in all 4 qualifiers on the Dota 2 blog but it is worth taking a look at how stacked the European qualifier is.

Vega Squadron, Burden United, Natus Vincere, Power Rangers, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Alliance, London Conspiracy, Hellraisers and 4 Anchors + Sea Captain are the 9 teams invited to the qualifier and there will also be one Europe Open Qualifier Winner. In that list, two are former TI champions, almost all the squads have at least one player who has attended a TI before and some have won multiple tournaments over the last few months. If anything the European qualifiers should be very entertaining.

The first qualifiers will be the American and China qualifiers running from May 25-28. Then the European and SEA qualifiers will run from May 29 – June 1.
