A New Heroes of the Storm Patch Landed Today

Blizzard today added lots of new content to their MOBA, Heroes of the Storm, with a patch.

The update included:

• A new battleground named Tomb of the Spider Queen, a three-lane battle ground. In the battleground, spider minions and enemy heroes will drop magical gems of power upon their inevitable death. Said gems, once collected, can then be turned in to the Queen’s altars, and once either team has handed enough gems over to the Queen, her Webweavers will come down all three lanes and siege the enemy on all three.
• Sylvanas Windrunner, a new unique specialist. It’s basic abilities are withering fire and haunting wave. It’s trait is black arrows, it’s heroic abilities white arrows, which can do 200 damage, and possession, which forces an enemy minion to fight for you.
• The second mode of ranked play in the game: Team League. In which players can create named teams with rosters in order to compete in ranked matches against teams of a similar team level. However, to compete in Team Leagues, you must meet the following requirements: Level 40, own ten or more heroes, be in a team with at least five players.
• Finally, changes have been made to the progression system. In regards to heroes, the level cap has increased from 10 to 20, and new rewards have been added: 1,250 gold at hero level 15 and 2,500 gold at hero level 20. Loads of new rewards have been added to payer progression too: seven day Stimpack at player level 10, 2,000 gold at player level 20, 25. 30, 35, 40, Team League unlocked at player level 40. Also, if you’ve already surpassed the level requirement for the rewards, you will still receive them.
