Another day and another indie game that is heading to the PS4. Toren is a title that is being developed by Brazilian indie studio Swordtales and will be released in partnership with indie publisher Versus Evil in early 2015.
Toren is, according to the press release, “a dark fantasy adventure game that brings poetry to life in an epic journey about growth, discovery and overcoming great hurdles.” It will launch on PC, Mac and PS4.
Vitor Severo Leães, Producer at Swordtales had this to say about the partnership with Versus Evil.
“We’re very excited to be teaming up with Versus Evil,”
“Toren is the biggest project of our lives and we have been independently developing it for three years. A big concern for us was finding a publishing partner for the game, one that understood how we operated and had the experience to help us launch the game successfully. We found the ideal partner in Versus Evil and are looking forward to working closely with them.”
Then Steve Escalante, general manager of Versus Evil added this.
“Toren is a great example of the type of game we look to partner with,”
“It’s a unique, exciting, and beautiful game with a story that truly captivates the player. The Swordtales team has done a great job in developing this magical world and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them. We look forward to sharing more information in the months to come and to finally releasing Toren to gamers across the globe.”
