Naughty Dog ‘Forces Out’ Uncharted Creative Director and Writer

It has emerged today that Uncharted creative designer, Amy Hennig, no longer works at Naughty Dog, and has in fact been ‘forced out’ of the company.

Amy Hennig has been part of the company for a decade, and was working on Uncharted 4 until her final day on Monday.

IGN’s sources claim that  Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, with it looking likely that they’ll now take over at the helm of the series.

Amy Hennig was the key mind behind the Uncharted series, and to many fans of Drake and co this will come as quite a blow. Uncharted 4 is still very much in the works according to Sony “We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.”

How much will the tone and gameplay change in the series without its main writer and director? Only time will tell..
