Super Smash Bros lead designer Masahiro Sakurai took to Miiverse yesterday to reveal that the 3DS and Wii U versions of the new Super Smash Bros. title will feature trophies that are unique to each version.
Since Super Smash Bros. Melee the series has featured collectable figurines that it would reward to the player when they beat certain conditions, or simply for extended play. Achievements before achievements, essentially, except you’d learn about about Nintendo in the process.
We already knew that Super Smash Bros for Wii U and Super Smash Bros for 3DS would feature unique stages that focused on the console and handheld respectively, but we now have confirmation that the trophies will also reflect their title console as well.
The trophy we saw alongside this confirmation was one of Saria, from Ocarina of Time 3D. Presumably this means that the 3DS will have more trophies, what with all those Pokémon…
Stages and trophies are different then, but it’s worth remembering that the character rosters will be the same. We’re still in the dark in regards to single player and online modes, mind…
