In a recent interview with Polygon, Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer spoke about a ton of things, but what piqued my interest was what he said about Remedy Entertainment’s Quantum Break:
“It may be before the end of the year when we talk more about what the story and the gameplay is…We have a pretty good piece that I’m trying to coerce people into putting out before the end of the year … showing the full Remedy vision, with Sam [Lake] giving a pretty good description of how the game works with some new gameplay footage.”
He goes on to say that VGX might be a good avenue for them to show off said footage. With the way the awards show has been built up over the past few years, showcasing Quantum Break in front of the Spike TV audience doesn’t seem like a bad idea.
After this year’s E3, one of the games that was being referenced a lot was Quantum Break. Now, that could’ve been because the title reminded them of one of the best shows of all time, or it could’ve been because the concept was a little bit novel. Somehow merging TV and video games together sounded intriguing to many. Sure, it didn’t really work out for Defiance, but people still hold out hope.
