Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 is adding 800 new likenesses, better online features and an Edit mode in some free DLC.
The extra content will bring all current squads up to date and some of the faces that have been realised include Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Man United’s Da Silva twins. The much asked-for 11 Vs 11 mode is included, along with enhancements to chat elements and a new Team Play lobby. Some teams now have extra kits too, and there are a number of new boots available within the game.
Also, myPES is back again and greatly improved, apparently. Through this, players’ stats and rankings will be displayed. The best thing about this, though, is that there is now a dedicated iOS app. With this, you can analyse the opposition — see potential weaknesses, check out their passing stats and how they build-up to goals. There is an Android version coming as well, but at a later date.
Even with all of that, I still think missing out on the next-generation was a mistake on Konami’s part. I just hope that they come to the dance with something impressive, next year. A football game monopoly is good for absolutely no one.
