Activision certainly kept this one under wraps. A new iOS game, Call of Duty: Strike Team, hits the app store today, developed by the publishers new mobile studio, The Blast Furnace. The game is described as a mix of tactical play and action, by allowing players to switch between a first-person or top-down view as they control a team of 4 soldiers.
Exclusive to iOS for now, the game features narrative-driven single-player campaign as well as Survival mode, complete with perks, ranks and prestige levels similar to the rest of the franchise. Players can also log in with their Call of Duty accounts to unlock bonus content.
Although this is the first mobile Call of Duty title from The Blast Furnace, the developers have already garnered a strong reputation, thanks in no small part to it’s studio head Mark Washbrook, a former Rockstar employee whose credits include Manhunt and Max Payne.
Call of Duty: Strike Team is available right now from the App Store, priced at £4.99 and $6.99.
