Ever since Dead Space 3 was released earlier this year, rumours have been rampant about EA dropping the series and moving onto something else. However, a few weeks back, EA’s Patrick Söderlund claimed Dead Space wasn’t cancelled and today, there’s more reason for Dead Space fans to have faith.
“Faith”, being the appropriate word as EA’s Frank Gibeau spoke with CVG about Dead Space and claimed Electronic Arts are sticking with it, despite sales not being what they’d hoped:
“No it’s not out of rotation. I mean, I’m not announcing anything right now, but I will say we had a great trilogy of games and we still have faith in that franchise. Dead Space is something that we’re very proud of. We are not making any public announcements on what we’re doing with the next Dead Space, but we definitely have a great set of IPs to pull out of the vault.”
It may not be tomorrow and it may not even be within the next twelve months, but at least lovers of Isaac Clarke can see that EA aren’t giving up on the necromorph battling engineer, just yet.
