Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD to be Released Digitally on PS3 and 360
It’s been confirmed that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is getting the HD treatment and will be released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PSN Store, on October 31.
Announced on the series’ Facebook (thanks to Polygon for enlightening us) page, the 3DS game and sequel to 2010’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, was released back in March on Nintendo’s handheld, but a console release had been rumoured with quite some time. MercurySteam’s Dave Cox previously said that a HD version had been developed, but a release was dependent on the game’s sales on 3DS.
The culmination of the series is scheduled to be released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, in November of this year. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 has a lot to live up to as the original garnered a firm following with the Belmont hardcores and also brought on a host of new fans. Many are hoping for the sequel to eclipse the first game in this incarnation of Castlevania, so here’s hoping for a strong showing, later this year.
