Capcom’s love it/hate it series of Monster Hunter is out on 3DS in the coming months in Japan, but won’t be making the jump to Sony’s handheld.
That’s according to chief operating officer Haruhiro Tsujimoto, who spoke with Mainichi Shinbun Digital (translated by Siliconera) about the potential of Monster Hunter 4 appearing on Vita. Tsujimoto said that there are no plans to bring the 3DS title over, at this point in time:
“While planning out game content, we will develop and judge which hardware is the most suitable. However, for the sake of the players, having it be a multi-development is the most ideal … We want to have as many people as possible play it on the 3DS, and we are only thinking about making it succeed.”
A release date hasn’t been confirmed for Western audiences, but expect it. Even though the name doesn’t carry as much weight over on this side of the world, there are plenty of Americans and Europeans out there who are fanatical about Monster Hunter.
