Back in September last year, Revolution Games happily announced that their Kickstarter campaign for a fifth Broken Sword game had been a runaway success. The new game – entitled Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse  – doubled its $400,000 Kickstarter target and met many stretch goals to make the upcoming game even better.
Being the first new game in the series for six years – not counting the remastered versions of the first and second game – big things are expected by fans. And in an interesting move, Revolution have revealed at Gamescom in Cologne this week that the new game will not only be released on Windows PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android, as originally stated, but will also launch on PlayStation Vita. This will be the first Broken Sword title to ever appear on a Sony handheld console.
This follows on from Telltale Games, who released their runaway success The Walking Dead: The Game on PS Vita earlier this year – showing that perhaps the Vita will be the new console of choice for point and click adventure games. All the different versions of Broken Sword 5 are due out later this year.
