ZombiU 2 is Unlikely as Ubisoft CEO Reveals the Wii U Exclusive was Unprofitable
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has stated that there will not be a sequel to Wii U launch title, ZombiU.
In an interview with GamesIndustry International (via Eurogamer), Guillemot stated that the game was not profitable and was the main reason for Rayman Legends going multi-platform. It seems that ZombiU 2 is highly unlikely as Guillemot said there are no plans, or desire, to work on a follow-up to ZombiU – even though it was rumoured that a prototype was in the works.
It’s a shame that this is the case because ZombiU was one of the more interesting and different launch games for the system. In a sea of happiness and rainbows, ZombiU’s more adult tone struck a chord with a number of people. Just not enough, I guess.
