A new Tomb Raider comic from Dark Horse was announced at San Diego Comic Con. The book is scheduled to be released in February 2014 and it picks up where this year’s reboot left off.
Speaking with Kotaku, writer Gail Simone said that not only will the comic’s events begin at the end of Crystal Dynamics’ critically successful game, it will also act as a prequel of sorts to Tomb Raider 2:
“We start just a few weeks after the end of the game, and this is all in continuity, it will be Tomb Raider canon, and lead directly into the sequel. This is what got me excited; we get to be part of Lara Croft history.”
Many were overjoyed with Lara Croft’s re-imagining. The fluid controls and fleshed out lead character gave this series a much needed kick-start into relevance, once again.
