NHL 94 Mode Included in NHL 14 to Commemorate 20 Year Anniversary
EA Sports has announced that the upcoming NHL 14 will include a mode that celebrates one of the finest ice hockey games of all time – NHL 94.
Speaking with Joystiq, EA Sports producer Sean Ramjagsingh explained that the mode is exclusively for offline play and will please a lot of old-school fans of the series:
“From the moment you start loading into the game you’re going to hear some of the retro NHL 94 music. You’re going to hear organs throughout the game mode. You’re going to see the retro star as a player indicator with their number and position. You’re also going to see retro-style art on the rinks.”
This iteration of the game will see many staples return such as breaking glass at the side of the rink and goalies getting popped in the face with hockey sticks from outfield players.
