Peripheral kings Mad Catz announced that they were partnering with Microsoft for a special Killer Instinct fightstick back at E3 2013 and today, we have a vague release window.
The Killer Instinct Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition 2 is scheduled to ship this Holiday season – so expect it around Christmas. President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Darren Richardson was happy to bring news on what will probably be the first fightstick available on Xbox One:
“E3 greeted us with a positive reaction to our Tournament Edition 2 FightStick and we’re pleased that the controller will provide passionate fans of Killer Instinct with an even richer gaming experience. We earlier commented how the enhanced performance of the Xbox One opens up additional scope for innovation and believe that the Killer Instinct Tournament Edition 2 FightStick perfectly illustrates our commitment to the next generation of entertainment.”
This Killer Instinct reboot is being developed by Double Helix Games – the series first saw the light of day back in 1994 as Rare created the original game. Whilst not a Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct definitely has somewhat of a cult following and is sure to interest many once it is released.
