The latest addition to the Halo franchise, Halo: Spartan Assault is out today, but only in North America. The twin-stick, top-down shooter is currently exclusive to Verizon Wireless until August 16, according to GameSpot. Priced at $6.99, the spin-off is only available on Windows 8 based phones, tablets & PCs. It also requires at least 1GB of ram on mobile but a lower spec, 512mb version is expected in August.
Set between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4, the game features 25 missions and integrates with Halo 4 providing additional experience points, unlockable Spartan emblems and in-app purchases. No word on a global release date yet, but it can’t be that far off.
