Earthbound Listing Shows Release Date is…TODAY
It appears that after years of waiting, Earthbound has come to the Wii U eShop all of a sudden.
Announced back at the packed Nintendo Direct in April, the much loved SNES classic never came to Europe and Western fans were deprived of the GBA re-release of Mother and its sequel in 2003 and the Virtual Console release on Wii in Japan.
Without much fanfare, it seems that Kotaku has spotted a listing for the game which will cost $9.99. The scheduled release date is…TODAY! July 18.
Nintendo hasn’t released any statement or press release as of yet. We’ll update this story as and when they do.
UPDATE: According to a Nintendo Direct Mini, Earthbound will indeed be available on the Wii U’s eShop from 5pm BST.
