Far Cry 4 is happening and news is forthcoming.
Speaking with Gamespot, senior vice president of marketing and sales Tony Key said that due to the successes of Far Cry 3 in terms of review scores and sales, Far Cry 4 is a certainty:
“We’re totally psyched from [Far Cry 3]. It’s a great brand, and now it’s got the recognition it deserves, so we’re clearly going to make another one: more on that soon.”
Prior to last year’s entry in the series, the Far Cry brand wasn’t a smash hit, although did have a pocket of fans that were invested. Far Cry 3’s main villain Vaas, the gameplay and the stunning visuals were all big reasons for why it made the franchise a big Ubisoft property – that went on to spawn a spin off in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
