At San Diego Comic-Con during a panel about video game adaptations, we today learned that creepy sci-fi action title Dead Space is getting a movie adaptation. Sounds exciting, right? Then you learn that the script has been engineered by Justin Marks, the man behind the awful Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li movie.
Neal Moritz, who produced Will Smith disappointment I Am Legend wil co-produce, with Marks telling the panel that he plans on making a game that deviates from the game’s influences:
“You would be making ‘Event Horizon’ or ‘Alien’. I’ve already seen that movie.”
Semi-dormant horror legend John Carpenter was previously attached to the project.
