It’s crazy to think that The Settlers franchise has been around for 20 years. In ’93, Whitney Houston made The Bodyguard famous, the red side of Manchester lifted the inaugural Premier League trophy and Blue Byte Software released The Settlers on Amiga-PC. Nine million copies of the franchise have found their way into homes across the world and Ubisoft want to commemorate this very occasion.
The Settlers Online will now feature some new events such as the Retro Click Adventures which takes inspiration from Settlers II and the Semi-retro Military Adventures – which is only available to players at level 26 and up.
A loot item is also being added in the form of a balloon. Each server will be tasked to collect a certain number of balloons and once the players group together and collect the required amount, all users will get the Settlers II original HQ. The server that gets reaches its balloon goal in the quickest time will see players get some extra rewards for their troubles.
So, head on over to The Settlers Online site and get collecting those balloons!
