The Order 1886 Announced

The Order 1886 is a Steampunk shooter in development for Playstation 4, courtesy of Ready at Dawn Studios and Santa Monica Studios.

Ready at Dawn were responsible for many of the PSP’s best games, and the Order 1886 sounds like their chance to prove that they can boogie with the big boys.

The trailer shows a Steampunk imagining of London, complete with Zeppelins and chocking fog, The characters ride a carriage into Whitechapel where they’re ambushed by many nasty creatures lurking in the night.

The use of Whitechapel obviously brings to mind Jack the Ripper (who was active in 1888) suggesting that the game may twist real horrors into the ludicrous beasties that your demon slaying characters hunt and kill with their steam powered guns.

If writing ability was a flavour, I would be the warming embrace of apple and cinnamon - wonderfully familiar and pleasantly spiced. Ever the optimist, I spend most of my game time diligently failing at fighting games (BlazBlue and Persona 4 Arena being the preferred titles), Monster Hunter and Dark Souls.
