Garrus Appears to be Favourite to Take Protagonist Role in Mass Effect Spin-off

In an interview with OXM, a number of BioWare employees spoke of potential spin-offs for the Mass Effect series.

Series director Casey Hudson said he’d like to revisit the universe, but approach it in a different manner:

“There’s so much that could be told in the Mass Effect universe, It’d be cool to do something completely unrelated to the larger storyline, like a story about a private investigator on the Citadel. Or maybe something detailing Garrus’ time in C-Sec.”

Level designer Dusty Everman also backed up Hudson’s Turian plan:

“While being one of Shepard’s most loyal friends, Garrus has also had some of the most driven personal goals. He’s a hero in his own right, as Archangel and beyond. Who wouldn’t want to see the further adventures of the bold, charming Garrus Valkarian (there’s a lot of guns out there to calibrate).”

Garrus wasn’t the only name the team behind one of this generation’s biggest hits was touting as a protagonist – Aria T’Loak, Grunt and even Javik were all named as interesting possibilities for a potential new Mass Effect game.

You can check out all of the possibilities that the team mentioned over on OXM, but who would you like to control in a new ME title? Let us know in the comments section, below.
