German Developers Daedalic Entertainment have carved out quite a name for themselves over the last few years as one of the real champions of the classic point and click adventure game genre, and that looks set to continue with their upcoming new title, Memoria.
The company have long supported the production of high-quality, yet old-fashioned 2D adventure games, which have a reputation for fantastic artwork and a strong sense of humour. Memoria looks set to continue that trend, as the first images of the game look stunning, and the fantasy setting provides a plethora of interesting opportunities for the game.
Not much is known about the title as of yet, but you can read an outline of the plot below:
Memoria tells the tale of the warrior princess Sadja of Fasar, who once ventured to war against the demons of the Gorian Desert. Her goal – to become the greatest hero of all time – was foiled by mysterious circumstances. Whatever happened, the girl disappeared and her tale was all but forgotten.
Five centuries passed until one day a young bird catcher named Geron met a traveling merchant named Fahi in his native forest. This merchant promises to return Geron’s girlfriend Nuri to human form undoing the curse that has made her a raven. But this favour comes at a price: Geron must solve the mystery of Sadja’s fate. He agrees without hesitation – unaware that this choice will trigger a chain of events that will soon cast a shadow on his homeland and turn the present into a dark mirror of its long forgotten past…
