Avalanche Studios Halt Development on Unannounced Steampunk Open World Game
Remember those images that Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg posted a few months ago that looked like a potential sequel in the cult series Just Cause? Well, they weren’t.
Speaking with Edge, Sundberg said that those Instagram’d pics were actually from an open-world steampunk game the studio was working on. However, that project has currently been put on hold:
“They were from a steampunk-style game we had in development that we put on ice. I really love that art style, and to combine it with sandbox gameplay is a dream of mine. Fortunately, being an independent developer I can control my own destiny and we’ll make something in that world sooner or later.”
Currently at work on two games, Avalanche’s upcoming titles are still rumoured to be Just Cause 3 and a Mad Max game. So, fans of Rico should relax because chances are that we will be seeing him again, soon enough.
