Both EA and DICE are yet to confirm a release date for their recently announced(even though it was already announced, kind of) FPS sequel, but that hasn’t stopped Xbox.com spilling the beans.
Through VideoGamer, we’ve seen that a blog post on Xbox.com has mentioned a release date for Battlefield 4, prior to any official statement on the matter from publisher, or developer:
“Only in Battlefield can players go through a building instead of around it, eject from a jet and take out the enemy mid-free fall, or flip a tank. DICE, a studio of Electronic Arts, announced that Battlefield 4 will arrive on the Xbox 360 on October 29, 2013.”
With October 29 being a Tuesday, its fair to assume that this is the correct date for the North American release and someone over at Xbox.com just jumped the gun. With Durango’s reveal still on the horizon, it’s also understandable that someone would guess Battlefield 4 will follow Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Watch Dogs in being a cross-generation title – even if EA are remaining tight-lipped on the matter. All of this makes the late October date even more plausible.
Battlefield 4 will be released later this year for Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
