Tales of Xillia Gets a USA Release Date, European Date Still Unknown
The highly anticipated Western release of PlayStation 3-exclusive RPG Tales of Xillia may have been dated for North America, but European fans will have to wait a bit longer, and there’s more bad news!
In a Kotaku interview, Hideo Baba (Producer/Director of the Tales of… series) confirmed that the Vita titles Tales of Innocence R and Tales of Hearts R won’t be coming to North America:
Unfortunately, at this present time we don’t have any plans to release any of the Vita titles. One of the main reasons is, unfortunately the PlayStation Vita is doing relatively poorly in North America, so it’s one of those things that if the numbers increased considerably, then it’s something we could consider.
But back to the good news, Tales of Xillia will be seeing an August 6 release in the States, which was confirmed by Namco Bandai at a media event in New York. Thanks to Gematsu for the heads up.

Tales of Xillia is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and is already available in Japan. It will be released in North America on August 6. The latest on the European launch is that it’ll be released in “Summer 2013”.
