They have on and off years, but one thing remains constant, sports games will come out every single year. The latest Tiger Woods PGA Tour release was, by all accounts, another cracking entry into a terrific series that began in 1998. The 16 game run looks like it could be coming to an end with Kotaku reporting that there will be no entry, next year.
According to the site, EA Sports were planning on outsourcing Tiger 15 to another studio, in order to give EA Tiburon two years to create something special with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 16 on PS4 and the neXtbox. However, when John Riccitiello resigned, the publisher decided to scrap that idea to save some money, after members of EA Tiburon had been put to work on other projects.
Out of all of the sports games, EA’s golf series has always been consistent and to see a year where it won’t come out will be a shame, if that is the case.
