2K Marin Confirm XCOM Shooter Info is Coming Soon
After some reports about the game being in trouble, it appears that we’ll get concrete information in the coming days. 2K Marin has revealed that they will be sharing details about their XCOM shooter in a “only a matter of days”, on their blog.
One interesting thing to note is that the blog is titled: “2K Marin’s [redacted] is coming soon”. Anyone with their ear close to the ground would have heard rumours that the name of the game has been changed to The Bureau, but is still obviously set in the XCOM universe.
In the post, the studio behind BioShock 2 makes note of giving FirAxis plaudits for reinvigorating an otherwise dead franchise, and there’s no question that they have a tough act to follow. XCOM: Enemy Unknown was such a critical success and gave many old and new fans a reason to care about the name, XCOM. Let’s hope that when the official reveal goes down, we’ll have something to champion rather than berate.
