One thing that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was possibly lacking from other games in the Metal Gear saga, is probably the amount of random oddities and Easter Eggs that series creator Hideo Kojima is known for. However, it appears that a fair amount of strangeness was present in an earlier version of the game.
As reported by Eurogamer, developers Platinum Games have released a video taken from a prototype version of Revengeance, wherein Raiden encounters a group of seemingly invincible cats with reflexes that any Cyborg Ninja would be proud of. Gray Fox ain’t got nothing on these flexible felines.
However, one of these cuddly cuties made it’s way into the final game as an Easter Egg – He’s easy to miss in the File 1 stage, but you should catch a glimpse of him, just before you meet Monsoon (and have to sit through a monologue in First Person).
You can take a look at the prototype video below:
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is available now for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
