The hotly anticipated Killer Is Dead from Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games, has a new trailer that shows off some cutscenes and even some gameplay.
In the trailer, which you can check out below, the lead character Mondo looks set to get down to some hanky-panky type business, but then he tells the lady he “has a job to do” and with a swipe of a blade, blood splatters the screen.
The video – which is set to some orchestral-dubstep mix – gives fans of Suda51’s work a taste of what to expect from Killer Is Dead. Action appears to be fast paced and the cel-shaded visuals that have become a trademark of Goichi Suda are used to full effect.
The story centres around a Japanese assassin named Mondo Zappa who has an interchangeable left arm which can be used to utilise many different weapons. As a fan of Lollipop Chainsaw, I’m definitely up for more frantic gameplay from Grasshopper and Kadokawa.
At the end of the trailer, lead character Mondo Zappa breaks the fourth wall and teases another forthcoming trailer that focuses on“a beautiful woman who has devilish hands”.
Killer Is Dead will be released in Summer 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
