‘Embrace The Dark’ With the Darkstalkers Resurrection Launch Trailer

Darkstalkers-Resurrection-Q-Bee-and-RikuoDarkstalkers Resurrection launches this week on Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network, so Capcom have made a nice trailer to remind us.

Developed by Iron Galaxy Studios, the chaps behind the lovely Street Fighter III: Third Strike update, the game is a collection of two games; Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3.

First seen in 1994 the supernatural fighting series was a post-Street fighter project that experimented with many features we now see as standard for the genre. It expanded special moves with meter chomping EX versions, for instance; something the Street Fighter series would quickly adopt into its own DNA.

The franchise was also the birthplace of bosom bearing succubus Morrigan who is a regular chest in Capcom crossover projects such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Project X Zone.

Back in 2011 God is a Geek mash-man Sean Smith even found a spot for a Darkstalkers entry in his Top Ten 2D Fighters.
