Slated for release on April 26, the Dark Arisen campaign expansion for Dragon’s Dogma will not only add new areas, equipment and quests to Capcom’s surprisingly brilliant RPG, but it will also add a menagerie of new beasties to slaughter.
The Necrophagous Beasts are a new breed of monster that can appear from nowhere, drawn by the smell of death. They come in a few flavours, the most interesting of which are the Garms, giant wolf-like creatures whose breath is a black, blinding fog. In the latest video, we’re also shown the new Elder Ogre and Cursed Dragon enemies. Neither look like they just want to play fetch.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be available in April, and features all the content from the main game as well as a huge new subterranean area to explore and die in. Players can export an existing badass or create a brand new warrior to take on the bevvy of monstrous abominations plaguing the land. Check out the trailer below.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on North American on April 23 and in Europe on April 26.
