DmC DLC Vergil’s Downfall Dated and Bloody Palace Released

Vergil's-Downfall-DatedVergil’s Downfall, a substantial wedge of single player DLC for Ninja Theory’s DmC: Devil may Cry, will release on March 6 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Windows PC.

This extra story puts you in charge of Vergil – cowboy hat wearing, Yamato wielding, smart-arse brother of Dante – in a completely new story line.

A new face means a new arsenal of weapons, and the DLC boasts four difficulty settings and even some new baddies to ridicule, ensuring you should get some decent mileage out of all the new combos on offer. This slice of DLC sounds like a rather tantalising shot in the arm for Ninja Theory’s surprisingly good DMC reboot.

How much will it cost you? 720 Microsoft points on Xbox 360 and €8.99 on PSN and PC.

In further DmC DLC news, the survival-like Bloody Palace was released today for free. As was said in our previous coverage of the mode, it offers over 100 floors of enemies that you need to dispatch in a tight time limit. Why? Because they’re there, that’s why, and because the mode isn’t called ‘happy dance palace’. It’s called Bloody Palace.

You can watch the ‘trailer’ below but, honestly speaking, it’s quite a haphazard impression of the game’s combat. Except that Aquila combo at 1:10. That’s nice.

Considering Bloody Palace is free it’s nothing to be sniffed at, and it provides an excellent no frills way of enjoying the game’s brutal baddy bashing. As for Vergil’s Downfall, I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully Dante’s bro controls differently enough to provide some fresh challenge.
