The dust hasn’t settled on Bungie’s MMO styled FPS, just yet. After the big reveal of Destiny – where we finally got some information on the game that’s been spoken about in gaming circles since May of 2012 – many were lead to believe that we’d all be playing the Activision published title, some time this year.
However, IGN has reported that Activision do not have plans to release Destiny in this calendar year. They also stated that, “there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result”. Awww, but we LOVE speculation!
Destiny has been confirmed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with “other future console platforms”, also being touted as platforms for Bungie’s next shooter.
At this time, you have a publisher and developer that are currently stuck in limbo (like many others are at this time). With Microsoft and Sony still not confirming the neXtbox or PS4, a concrete release window for Destiny is obviously hard to pin down. I’m sure things will become clearer as soon as we start getting those wonderful announcement relating to the eighth generation.
