Question, is it possible to make Aquaman look like a badass? Answer, give him to the Mortal Kombat team and yes, actually.
He may still be sporting a questionable hair style at times but NetherRealm have turned Aquaman into a trident stabbing, Giant Crab riding, Shark feeding boss for his role as a playable fighter in upcoming DC scrapper Injustice: Gods Among Us.
His trident throwing and creation of water projectiles look fantastic, and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have access to some techniques similar to those of Mortal Kombat DLC character Rain.
Aquaman’s role in the game’s story looks interesting. Being the reluctant ruler of Atlantis, NetherRealm appear to cast him as one forced into co-operating with the game’s cast of heroes and villains. Considering, again, NetherRealm’s success with Mortal Kombat’s story mode it’s hard not to get excited for Injustice.
While a lot of my hopes for this game are pinned on the studio’s past work Mortal Kombat is a solid foundation, and Injustice seems to be building a mighty fine DC house on top of them.
Injustice: Gods Among Us will be released on April 19 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii U.
