Nintendo’s approach to digital download license may have just bitten them on the arse.
Nintendo’s policy of digital download licenses locking to the console and not the user has caused problems before, but their unorthodox approach may well benefit those who have purchased a second-hand Wii U console.
A forum post on popular gaming forum NeoGAF suggests that purchasing a second-hand Wii U console will allow you to download any eShop games downloaded by the previous owner – For free.
So if you haven’t picked up a Wii U yet, it might be worth finding a preowned system to see if any goodies are available – Although with reports like this commonplace, it’ll be interesting to see whether Nintendo change this policy anytime soon.
