Megaton news this week when it was revealed at the VGA awards that Dark Souls II is headed for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Other than the fact it is likely to be quite difficult, we know little about the project – except that it has a new director in Tomohiro Shibuya, who has been chatting to Edge.
“Dark Souls II will be more straightforward and more understandable”, Shibuya revealed. It will also feature a new protagonist, and a new “Unfamiliar” setting, as well as “Epic battles with gruesome enemies” and new ways to play the game in multiplayer, with Shibuya aiming to “put a distinct Dark Souls II twist on the concept of playing with others”.
From Software don’t strike me as being the types to dumb down their super-hardcore RPG series, so lets take all this as a positive and look forward to seeing how many new ways they have come up with to get killed in a game.
