BioWare Going All out for Next Mass Effect 3 DLC

Bioware Going All out for Next Mass Effect 3 DLCWhereas the most recent downloadable add-on for Mass Effect 3 – entitled Omega – came out last week to less than glowing reviews and an unfavourable reception from gamers, BioWare have indicated that they are putting together a large team of some of the biggest players in the series for the as-yet unannounced next DLC pack.

As Eurogamer reported, in the official forums for the game, Bioware Designer Jos Hendricks revealed a few details, such as the fact that around eight of the writers at Bioware Edmonton – the lead studio for the Mass Effect series – will be working on the DLC. This is in contrast to the Omega DLC, which was put together by sister studio Bioware Montreal (who will be producing Mass Effect 4).

Twitter has also been a useful resource for information on the DLC, as Composer Sam Hulick confirmed he has been scoring for the add-on, who will join other series composers Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco on a score that the musicians say is bigger than their regular DLC scores. And on top of that, there have been tweets suggesting that actors Seth Green (who plays pilot Joker) and Raphael Sbarge (Kaidan Alenko) are also returning – which is interesting as there were no squadmates included in Omega, and Joker has never returned to record new lines for any of the previous Mass Effect 3 DLC.

When eagle-eyed fans have hacked and trawled through past DLC packs, they managed to find out information that proved to be correct about the Leviathan and Omega DLC, so when they say that this new add-on is going to be focused on the Citadel – you can take that as a pretty firm suggestion. This could be exciting, as the Citadel is always an interesting location in the series. We will surely get more information from Bioware themselves soon.

Mass Effect 3 is available now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows PC and Nintendo Wii U.
