It’s been confirmed. The birds and the pigs will be on the silver screen in 2016, we’ve learned thanks to VG247. Rovio Entertainment has confirmed some of the major players involved with the animated feature film including; Despicable Me producer John Cohen (who will produce) and former Chairman of Marvel Studios and executive producer of Iron Man David Maisel, will be executive producer on the project.
CEO of Rovio Mikael Hed was notably happy about Cohen and Maisel’s involvement in the Angry Birds movie as he said, “John’s an exceptionally talented producer, and we’re delighted to have him join the flock. With John’s hands-on producer background and David´s expertise in establishing and running his own successful studio, these two are the dream team for making a movie outside the studio system. Both professionals have the ideal skills and vision to achieve incredible things.”
Angry Birds celebrated its third birthday the other day and the growth of that franchise has been out of this world. From games, to clothing, to lunch boxes, to now; movies. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Angry Birds: The Movie will have as much class as a Toy Story, for instance.
