Take a Look at Hitman: Absolution’s Living, Breathing World
The latest in the “Introducing…” series of Hitman: Absolution trailers shows a side to the gameworld that some people may not even be aware exists.
Displaying a level of incidental drama usually reserved for a Grand Theft Auto game, Hitman: Absolution’s gameworld is alive in a very human way. Couples will fight, people will chat, talk on the phone, sob quietly over terrible tragedies the details of which you’ll never know and won’t need to know; people will follow their own paths, make and break relationships and scheme and plot in their own little life cycles while you, as the original silent assassin Agent 47, hide in the shadows and listen to every word.
You might learn a particular guard’s weakness (which means you can exploit it rather than simply kill him), you might pick up the number to an electronic lock, the combination of a safe, or even learn who you need to brutally kill in order to drag their still-warm corpse to a retinal scanner. The selection of lethal tools at 47’s disposal in Absolution is exceptional, but it’s not all about killing; there are always other ways to complete objectives and observing the lives of others is a great way to learn secrets and alternate routes to objectives.
The level of detail is astounding, and it’s more proof – if more were needed – that Hitman: Absolution has been a labour of love for developers IO Interactive. Check out the Introducing… A Living, Breathing World trailer below.
Hitman: Absolution is set for release in the UK and Europe on November 20 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
