Xbox Live celebrates its 10th birthday today, and to celebrate Microsoft are offering some tasty looking discounts on some classic XBLA titles.
Ten years certainly has whizzed by quickly. We can remember when Xbox Live was launched it was hard to see it catching on, 10 years and 40 million members later would certainly suggest otherwise. To celebrate the fact that Xbox Live has made it to the ripe old age of ten, the guys over at Xbox have slashed the prices of a number of Xbox Live Arcade classic titles. The stand out one for us being Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved for just 200 points, so if you haven’t played it before (where have you been!) get over there and pick it up, now!
The offers below will be available for the next week (15th – 22nd November)
Title | Standard Price | Discounted Price |
Castle Crashers | 1200 | 600 |
Fruit Ninja Kinect | 800 | 400 |
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved | 400 | 200 |
Bastion | 1200 | 600 |
Peggle | 800 | 400 |
Full House Poker | 800 | 400 |
As well as the above offers, Xbox have made the Kinect enabled title Wreckateer free to all for the next 48 hours, so if you’ve got a Kinect be quick to snap that one up. Marc Whitten, Corporate VP of Xbox Live has been chattering on about Xbox’s big birthday in a blog post that you can read here. In it, he tells us that since somebody turned the Xbox Live lights on all those years ago, we gamers have amassed a combined gamer score of more than 270 BILLION G’s. That’s a lot of G’s, man, 14.5 billion separate achievements. Go us!
