New Trailer For Aliens: Colonial Marines Reveals Pre-Order Bonuses
It’s hard to write anything Aliens-related without peppering it with classic quotes, but I’ve been asked not to succumb to cliche and I shall endeavour to rise to the challenge, even if the guy who issued it has definitely got a corn-cob up his ass. No offence.
Anyway, with that out of my system (for now), SEGA and Gearbox Software have today released a brand new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines, detailing the extra content you’ll recieve for pre-ordering the squad-based shooter at Gamestop.
The biggest draw in this exclusive pack is the ability to play as four iconic characters from James Cameron’s seminal sci-fi action romp. Take the battle for survival against the Xenomorph swarm online, and saddle up as Apone (“A day in the marine corps is like a day on the farm!”), Hicks (“I like to keep this handy, for close encounters,”), Hudson (“It’s game over, man! Game over!”), or, er, Drake (*bangs camera on seat*).
As well as granting access to such hallowed legends (and Drake – seriously, where the hell is Vasquez? Have Gearbox forgotten the strong female archetype that makes the Alien trilogy so great? Yes, I said trilogy, and meant to), the pre-order bonus also gives you Ripley’s gaffer-taped flamethrower and a handful of new customisation options.
When Colonial Marines is already looking like it might just be the best Aliens game ever, the chance to play online as such popular characters really is a big fat glob of icing on the cake.
Check out the trailer for more details.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is being developed by Gearbox Software and published by SEGA, and will launch on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U on February 12th 2013.
