New Tokyo Game Show Trailers for Yakuza 5
SEGA have put together two new trailers for the latest entry in the Ryu ga Gotoku series, as they showed off new Yakuza 5 in-game footage at the Tokyo Game Show.
Five really is the magic number with this game, as the fifth entry in the series will see the player take control of five different protagonists, and for the first time in the series, action will be spread across five different locations in Japan – which includes; Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo and Nagoya. For the first time too, players will take on the role of a female character, as Kazuma’s adaopted daughter Haruka is now playable. The trailers show off the new fighting transitions, where you can enter street fights smoothly, without loading screens.
The trailers show off some of the new game modes, such as Street Dance battles, driving missions and a whole host of new mini-games – which even includes a fully playable version of Virtua Fighter 2! There will be more minigames, diversions and buildings that you can enter than in any of the previous Yakuza games.
We have loved previous Yakuza titles, and although there has been no Western release confirmed for this one, it is highly likely that it will reach our shores eventually – normally taking quite some time to translate fully as the games are so packed full of content and dialogue.

Yakuza 5 will release exclusively for PlayStation 3 in Japan in December – a Western release has yet to be confirmed.
