Killzone Trilogy Box-Set Coming to Playstation 3
HD re-skins are nothing new these days, and by and large they’re considered a good thing. Sony in particular are well known for not only buffing up their older games but also repackaging and re-releasing them as special edition box-sets. It worked with the God of War saga, Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank, and now they’ve turned their attention to Guerrila Games’ pitch-dark space-age shooter, Killzone.
The new Trilogy pack will contain a revamped version of the original game, polished to a high HD shine and with several new features including an updated control scheme and full trophy support. Taking the fight to the Helghast as Captain Templar will look and feel better than ever as it makes full use of the Playstation 3’s capabilities.
In addition, the box-set will also feature Killzone 2 and 3 and all their associated multiplayer map packs, which might not be quite so exciting for current-gen gamers who already own them. Many fans will be hoping for a separate re-release of the much-loved first game and may find the £40 price-tag a little high, but you really can’t fault the quality or size of the package as a whole.
Still, for those gamers who are yet to experience the dark, brooding atmosphere and immersive Killzone universe, the Trilogy is an excellent bargain and a great opportunity to join Templar and Sev in their desperate battles against the inhuman forces of the Helghast. Killzone Trilogy is expected to arrive on Playstation 3 some time between now and Christmas.
