Original Hitman Actor Returns for Absolution
After a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, IO Interactive have finally come out to confirm that the original voice actor for Agent 47 – who has been in every instalment of the series since it began – David Bateson, will be returning to reprise his role.
IO had originally stated that they were looking for a new actor for the part, and after the began hiring other Hollywood and Televison talent such as Marsha Thomason, Keith Carradine, Vivica Fox, Shannyn Sossamon and Powers Boothe, fans began to worry that Bateson would get the chop. But thankfully, the original Assassin will be reprising his most famous role, and the recognisable voice of Agent 47 will remain the same.
Along with that news, the developers also revealed that former LOST actor William Mapother (Ethan from that series) will be joining the cast to play an as-yet-unannounced character. The actor is famous for playing villains and slightly shady characters – so expect him to crop up as a bad guy in the game.
Hitman: Absolution, Brand Director Jon Brooke said of the news; “IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”
