2012 is a very special year for the Metal Gear series as it celebrates its 25th anniversary. Konami has recently launched a site dedicated to bringing news based around events and releases that tie in to the series’ momentous birthday.
The 25th anniversary hub will detail everything and anything you need to know about the stealth franchise’s big year, as many announcements are planned for the occasion. Firstly, about a month ago, we learned about the long awaited trophy patch for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots, which Metal Gear God Hideo Kojima announced would add 34 Trophies, which no doubt perked the interest of many.
It has now been revealed that the original Metal Gear Solid’s price on PSN has been slashed in half for two weeks. The title will set you back just £3.99/€4.99 for the next fortnight. At that price, you would be stupid not to purchase one of the greatest video games ever made.
You can find the site here and there is also a dedicated Twitter account which will bring all of the latest happenings on Metal Gear’s 25th to your timeline, over at @MG25th.
How's things? I'm the video guy and would love if you'd watch the things I do like Debatable and For Your Amusement. I spend the majority of my days explaining why The Wire is the greatest TV show ever and clamouring for a Pop-Punk revival(c. 1994) whilst singing in my best Axl Rose-esque voice. Do not say professional wrestling is “fake” around me or, he’ll bore you with, what I like to call, “the risks they take”. Henrik Larsson is my hero.
