Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition is Coming to the US in the Form of Pokemon Conquest
Now gaming crossovers are known to get a little odd, but Pokemon + Nobunaga’s Ambition is certainly one of the more obscure mixes in recent memory.
The game hit Japanese stores a few weeks ago, flying straight in at number one on the charts. Now I’m sure everyone is familiar with the Pokemon side, but the Nobunaga’s Ambition half will probably be new to most western gamers. First released back in 1983 Nobunaga’s Ambition is a strategic role playing game featuring Japanese Warlords. The series has enjoyed massive success in Japan, the last title released in 2011 was Nobunyaga’s Ambition, a cat based (yes cat!) battle/raising browser game.
The game will be renamed Pokemon Conquest when it hits US shores, but the gameplay will remain unchanged. Featuring turn-based six-on-six battles, players will travel across 17 kingdoms, each containing a general from Nobunaga’s Ambition and their Pokemon. Sadly no news yet on whether the game will be coming to Europe, if Nintendo’s past record is anything to go by a petition may be required!
Check out the original Japanese trailer below, this certainly looks like a unique crossover, one that I’m sure ALL Pokemon fans the world over would like to play.
Will you be picking up this bizarre crossover, or are you just waiting for Black 2/White 2?
US gamers will be able to pick up Pokemon Conquest when it launches on DS, June 18th.
